So Christians believe in the Trinity, right? Isn’t that like believing in three gods, not one?
Not exactly. The Trinity is probably one of the most confusing doctrines of our faith. It’s pretty hard to explain it. But, to answer your question, Christians believe in just one God. Jesus said in Mark 12:29: “The Lord our God, the Lord is one.” Jesus was fully aware of all the members of the Trinity, but He maintained that God was one. How does that make any sense? Well, we believe that God is one in essence, but three in person and form: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Not three separate gods, but one God who chose to reveal Himself three different ways in three different persons. Even though it is hard to completely grasp, we can trust that what the Bible says is true.
